College Football Scholarships

Just because you are the star quarterback in your high school doesn’t mean you will end up playing in the NFL.  You first need to get into a top ten college and then you need to be able to afford it.  If financing is an issue, then you have to work twice as hard, so you can obtain a football scholarship.

Every high school football player wants to earn a football scholarship, but not every player will even be considered.  You need to stand out against your competes by breaking records, winning important games and receiving awards from your current coach.  You also need to know how to build relationships with college coaches.

College coaches are dealing day to day with their own players and they don’t know every rising star coming out of high school.  They focus on athletes that have contacted them with an impressive scholarship and a competitive attitude.  There is less than a 1% chance of receiving a scholarship, so make sure you are doing everything you can obtain one.

How to get a football scholarship

The most important step in getting a football scholarship is making sure you are noticed by college coaches.  If they haven’t seen your stats or witnessed you in action, then you could miss out on the chance at receiving any funding towards your college or university education.

Once you a coach is interested in you, then you have to prove that you would be a valuable asset to their program.  They need to see that you are fast and furious and ready to dominate in a tough football match.  They also need to see that you have good grades and a reputation for being as a dedicated hard worker.

Getting noticed by football coaches

The best way to get a coach to notice you is to convince him to come watch your play in a major game.  Introduce yourself, invite him to watch you play and then give the coach a professional sports resume with your high light video, so he can judge for himself if it worth coming out to see your next game.

The better you can present yourself to the coach, the better chance he will come out to see you in action.  Once you get a coach to your game, then it is up to you and your talent on the field to impress him enough that he wants you on his team.

Improve your odds of earning a scholarship for football

To make yourself stand out against all the other great high school football players then you need to win the championships for your division.  Coaches look for team leaders who can guide their teammates to win when it counts the most.  You also need to have impressive stats and good grades starting as early as your freshman year.

The easiest way to improve your odds is to seek advice from professionals.  There are experienced experts who understand the recruitment process and can guide you along your way.  It helps to have someone with the connections and the marketing skills to improve your chances of grabbing a coach’s attention.
