Coaches award scholarship to rowers who demonstrate the ability to guide their team to a first place finish every time they compete.  They want dedicated rowers who are constantly trying to improve on their speed and physical strength.  Once you get a coach’s attention make sure you show them everything you have to offer to their rowing team.

Earning a Men Rowing Scholarship

In order to improve your chances of receiving a rowing scholarship, then you should mail out a professional sports resume that highlights all of your past accomplishments to every possible coach college.  You should also include any recommendation letters from current coaches or teachers that show your wiliness to work as part of a team.

Working on improving your stroke is important, as long as you are putting the same effort into developing your relationship with college rowing coaches.  The earlier you develop a real relationship with a coach, the better your chances will be at them considering you for a rowing scholarship when the time comes.

In division 3 there were 29 teams and 963 rowers competing in 2010-2011
