3)    Send out a personalized introduction letter to every potential college track & field coach.

4)    Hire a professional to create a solid marketing package that includes an impressive skills video, so you have evidence of your abilities to give to potential coaches.

5)    Make sure you attend summer track and field camps and showcases to gain more exposure

6)    Maintain good grades and a reputation for being a hard worker on and off the field.

7)    Build lasting relationships with college coaches by keeping them updated on all of your recent achievements and responding to them quickly and professionally.

How female track and field athletes are evaluated

The feedback from surveying college coaches is that they evaluate your stats first and then they decide if it is worth it to pursue you any further.  Make sure to keep accurate and updated records of your performance and to present them professionally to a coach whenever possible.

Academic requirements for college track and field recruits

You may be the greatest track star in your high school, but it won’t get you into a college track program if you do not have the required academic scores.  Colleges require you to have a 3.0 GPA and a minimum of 1000 on your SATs in order to be considered for admission.

Why college track and field camps matter for female athletes

There is no faster way to show college coaches how much you deserve a scholarship then impressing them at a track and field meet or showcase.  College training camps give you an opportunity to demonstrate your abilities in comparison to other high school track stars.  If you think you are good enough to earn a scholarship, then college camps are your chance to shine.

If you want to play at the college level, you need to be constantly working on improving your results.  College camps help you to improve on your skills with technique building exercises and fierce competition.  It is always beneficial to show college coaches that you are coachable and interested in improving your performance.

When you attend a college camp at a school that you are interesting in attending, it will also give you an opportunity to check out the campus and their current track & field team.  Make sure you make real connections with every coach and express your sincere interest in their track and field program.
